About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Vertex Tech Ltd ("we", "us"), which provides the FunFi app. By creating an account or using FunFi you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. If you do not agree, do not use FunFi.
Who can use FunFi
- You must be at least 13 years old. FunFi does not accept a date of birth at sign-up that shows you are under 13 or that is in the future.
- If you are under 18, you should have a parent's or guardian's permission to use FunFi.
- Give true details when you sign up, especially your date of birth. Your age decides which rewards and limits apply to you, and it is checked against your ID before any gift-card redemption.
- One account per person. Keep your PIN, your sign-in codes and your phone safe. We will never ask you for your PIN or a sign-in code.
FunFi is education, not financial advice
FunFi teaches personal finance through lessons, quizzes and Toro, our AI tutor. Nothing in FunFi is financial, investment, legal, tax or Sharia advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or use any financial product. Think about your own situation and speak to a qualified adviser before making a financial decision.
FunFi is not a bank and does not provide banking, lending, investment or payment services. We never hold your money.
Sharia mode shows only content that FunFi has marked as Sharia compliant. These marks are FunFi's own content tags and are not a certification by a Sharia board.
Toro, the AI tutor
Toro answers from FunFi's lessons and its library, and it tells you when the lessons do not cover your question. Toro can still be wrong, so check anything important. Every answer carries a note that it is educational and not financial advice. Do not type personal details into Toro. There is a daily limit on the number of messages you can send.
Coins, XP and rewards
- You earn coins and XP by learning, for example by answering a question right the first time, finishing lessons, keeping a streak or inviting a friend. The app shows what each activity pays.
- Coins cannot be bought. They have no cash value, and they cannot be sold, transferred to another person or exchanged for money.
- You can spend coins on hints, and exchange them for rewards such as gift cards in the Market, on the terms shown there.
- We set how many coins each activity pays and the price of each reward, and we may change them. A change does not take away coins already in your balance, except as described under "Fair play".
- Coins, XP and unused rewards end when your account is deleted.
Gift cards
- To redeem a gift card you must be at least 13.
- You can redeem only the gift cards sold in your country of residence, and each card is in that country's currency.
- Before your first redemption you must verify your identity by uploading a photo of a government ID (an Emirates ID, a driving licence or a passport) and a selfie. A member of our team reviews them. You have three attempts. We delete the photos 30 days after the review, or with your account if you delete it first.
- If you have not verified yet, the card you picked is held for you while you upload. If you do not upload within 30 days, or your verification is rejected, all the coins for that card are returned.
- If your ID shows you are under 13, the verification is rejected and any held card is refunded. You can keep using everything else in FunFi.
- Once your ID has been checked, you cannot change your date of birth yourself. Contact us if it is wrong.
- Monthly limits depend on your age. Today they are 2 gift cards and AED 200 a month for ages 13 to 17, and 10 gift cards and AED 2,000 a month for ages 18 and over. The money limits are counted in UAE dirhams (AED), whatever the currency of your card. You need to add your date of birth to your profile before you can redeem. A month is a calendar month in UAE time. The app shows your remaining allowance before you confirm, and the limits shown there are the ones that apply.
- If the supplier cannot issue your card, we return all the coins for it. If an order cannot be completed within 48 hours, it is cancelled and the coins are returned.
- Once issued, a gift card is governed by the merchant's own terms, including when it expires. Keep your code private: anyone who has it can use it.
Sponsored content
Some lessons and placements are sponsored by partners such as banks. Sponsored content is always labelled as paid. Sponsors do not write lessons about their own products, and no sponsored placement pays coins or XP. Sponsor promotion is shown only to learners aged 18 or over. This covers every sponsor link, offer and product or partner promotion, wherever it appears in FunFi, including sponsored News articles and sponsor notifications. Learners of any age may see a sponsor credit, such as a line saying who sponsors a lesson or funds a gift card. A credit only discloses the sponsor, and has no product, offer or link. If you follow a link to a sponsor's website, that website's own terms and privacy policy apply.
Fair play
Do not cheat or try to earn coins in ways FunFi does not intend. This includes using more than one account, using scripts or bots, sharing answers in order to farm rewards, exploiting a bug, or inviting yourself. If we find cheating, we may remove coins, XP or rewards gained that way, cancel a redemption and return its coins, or suspend or close the account.
Leaderboards and your name
Your display name and avatar appear on leaderboards that other learners can see. Do not use a name that is offensive, misleading or belongs to someone else. We may change a name that breaks this rule.
Our content
FunFi's lessons, questions, Toro, artwork and software belong to us or to the people who license them to us. You may use them only for your own learning inside FunFi. Do not copy, resell or reverse engineer the app.
Changes and availability
We keep improving FunFi, so features, lessons, rewards and limits may change. FunFi may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
Suspending or closing an account
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other learners. You can contact us to ask why. You can delete your account at any time from Profile, Pin & Security, Delete My Account. Deletion becomes final after 24 hours.
Our responsibility
FunFi is free to use. To the extent UAE law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on FunFi content, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights under UAE consumer protection law.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it applies. If you keep using FunFi after that, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes go to the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates.
